Nintendo laat weten dat ze plannen hebben voor een nieuw Super Mario spel. Ze willen een ander soort gameplay implementeren dan de gebruikelijke Super Mario spellen.
Nintendo meesterbrein Shigeru Miyamoto meldt: “We’re always challenging ourselves to create something new, so hopefully you’ll see a new kind of Mario in about a year or two.vMaybe next E3 we’ll be able to share something.“.
Ook laat hij weten dat een nieuwe aanpak voor de franchise delicaat moet verlopen: “It’s kind of difficult with Mario because some of the more important conventions of Mario are based on the approachability and accessibility of those games.”.
Opvallend is dat Nintendo ook al aanpassingen aan de Legend of Zelda formule heeft toegepast met de aankomende titel Breath of the Wild.
